  4. Thinking positively can help students accomplish difficult tasks, perform better athletically and deal with difficult relationships better. When I coach, we spend a lot of time about shutting down negative self talk and replacing it with positive self talk. Sometimes the results happen quickly to transform their performance, with others it takes more time. But either way, it’s good for kids to learn when they are younger to talk to themselves positively!

    1. Hi Christine,
I too feel the graphics were well selected. Having a basic, yet positive icon can help remind students to stay positive. Many computers enable users to personalize their icons on their own desktop. A great idea may be for students to use positive images that link them to their online classes!

  7. This is great advice that we all know is out there but often times ignore. Our attitude is frequently the difference between success and failure. A positive mindset and desire to succeed can go a long way... so can the opposite. We can all make a conscious effort to improve our outlook on each and every day. Hopefully this will spill over into the lives of others as well.

  10. Thinking positively impacts every aspect of a person's life. In the case of our students, thinking positively can mean the difference between earning a high school diploma or not. The way we think positively about ALL of our students will also partially determine the level of respect we earn from them and potentially affect the amount of work they are willing to do for us. Side note: The graphics for this presentation are great!

  19. I very much agree with this article because positive thinking can change all aspects of your life, from your physical health to your mental health and everything in between. By looking at things from a more positive perspective, I can improve my own well-being.

  20. By educating others about this, it helps a lot especially with the students who might be suffering from something like depression. Making people aware of this is important because it shows them there is still a way to keep going. Thinking positively can change a person's life drastically and make them feel better about themselves. This article is a great source of reasons as to why it is better to look on the bright side of things. Thanks for letting people out there know how important this is.

I can relate to this article quite a bit, because it is so easy for me to think too long about a test or project, and then stress out quite a bit about it. I will definitely apply the positive thinking section to my life, it will probably help me to not stress. Great article.

  22. I loved this! it is very important to be happy and your happiness should be your top priority. Positive thinking isn't always the easiest thing to do, especially if you aren't already in that mindset. I know personally, I am a combination of a pessimist and optimist. It is very easy for me to think negative when I am in a negative situation and then I get stressed out. But when you improve your overall health and build healthy relationships you can gain a positive outlook on life no matter the situation.

  23. I strongly agree with this post because positive thinking has helped me a lot to get through rough patches and I think that if you have a bad attitude about a problem, it only makes the situation worse.

  24. This has connected with me on a much larger scale than intended, thinking positively has gotten me through many points in my life I struggled with and still does to this day.

  25. I think it is critical for someone to find their positive vibes because its so easy to let todays society tell you how you are suppose to look or where your suppose to categorized at. If someone has their inner peace and positive vibes its less likely they will develop depression ( I learned this the hard way, I developed depression at the age 12 after my cousin had died. A lot of people made fun of me and made me conform into societies beauty standard and 5 years later I'm now learning how to love and accept myself). Happiness is the key to everything if you are not happy doing it then its not for you.

  29. This article is very well written and it truly resonates with me because it is very relatable. In today's world and atmosphere it is very easy to become negative and hanging around people with a negative attitude only adds fuel to the fire. When she says "it becomes important to realize the profound power in thinking positively" i could not agree more. Staying positive is very important, however difficult, but it can still be done.

  38. Hi Natalie,
This is a great article to help keep students motivated. Personally, I keep a journal next to my bed and try to write one thing I did each day I felt good about. For example, "I helped mom bring in the groceries." At the end of the month I can read over at least 20 things I accomplished that month and I feel as if I was productive. It keeps me thinking positive and inspires me to do more each day. Some nights I forget and fall asleep, but others I may add an extra task. Regardless, it is a catalogue of positivity that is personal and relatable. From your post, I learned that this can also help my body’s immune system. What a great benefit! I was drawn to your post because of the positive images, but I am certainly glad I read the content. Thanks for the information.
