I like the first three steps that you gave out on actually studying and making sure that we actually put aside a time to study.

  4. WOW! I love your advice!! Also, great resources for everyone to use! I'm going to go play with them so that I can see how they can help my students. It is AWESOME when a student can help a teacher!!!! Keep up the good work!

  5. Very helpful insight as to how to successfully prepare for the SATs and ACTs. Definitely will take into account when beginning to prepare for them myself in the near future.

  7. Thank you so much for this article! My SAT is coming up soon and this not only reminded me to stay on top of studying, but also gave lots of useful free resources (since being a senior can be expensive enough as it is).

  12. This article is something I wish I had when I was in high school. I wasted a lot of time not knowing where to go to get good resources. Ended up spending a decent amount on money on some class sessions that were not worth it. I will be saving this to share with future students and my daughter when she gets older!

  13. I love these links. I already use a few of them in my face to face classroom, but haven't heard of some of them. I look forward to looking them up and seeing what they have to offer. I love how this article puts all these links in one place and they are links that can be used for many different courses. It gives a well organized place for students to go to find help and guidance they may need.

  14. I really love the links for this article and how this resource can be used along so many different content areas. I remember when I was back in high school, I wish there were better resources that could have prepared me for testing. As an educator I can definitely use these links for my online classes and my face to face classes.

  15. I love the idea of setting a realistic test score goal and striving to achieve it. Many students compare their scores against perfection; even though they don't know anyone that's actually achieved those scores. The strategies would definitely ease the tension of such high stakes tests.

  16. My students are always wanting to improve their ACT score. This article provides some great resources that can be shared with my NCVPS students and my kids at home.

  17. All of the above tips were well-thought out and well-written, kudos to Louisa C! But the one that resonated the most with me, given my own journey towards improving my scores for the GRE's to get into grad school, was the tip: "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" As a humanities person I'm not good at math, and the hours I spent on the GRE practice problems were SO not wasted! I improved my initial practice score by 30 percentage points after all my practice. Great Tip!!!

  18. I wish these resources would have been available to me when I was in high school. Back then the only test prep courses that were really offered were expensive. Today there are tons of free resources like the ones listed above that not only help you practice for the test but also teach you strategies to do well on these test. Proper test taking strategies are a must for doing well on standardized tests.

  20. Helpful info! Just want to add one more prep company--Prep Expert. They were giving a 200 point guarantee or your money back! I used them and my scores did not go up 200 points (but they did go up enough to get into my top choice school). They were true to their word and I got my money back! It's a really good program!

  21. Very nice info. I also have to start the preparations for my Bar exam but I already know that all this is going to be very difficult. Even I am an average student so passing this test for me quite a challenge so have I already decided to join most renowned TestMax Bar Exam Prep app.
