It may feel like a lot, but if you can apply these steps to your summer course you will be well on your way to success! Ask any questions you have now! The PTC team is here and ready to help you. Carefully managing your summer won’t ruin the fun. With luck, your NCVirtual class will add to your summer plans rather than impede them. Who knows, you may find you prefer translating Latin from your lounge chair on the beach or next to a pool rather than hunched over your desk at home.

  1. This is a very helpful 5 step "how to" process for succeeding in summer school that could easily be applied to succeeding at all educational endeavors. Creating a schedule, connecting to teachers and other stakeholders, and finding the motivation to learn is the key to educational success whether in a 6 week course or a 16 week course.

  2. Great tip about printing out the pacing guide! Even though this is an online course, with the quick 6 week schedule, having a guide to LOOK at will be very helpful for keeping up with assignments and due dates. Crossing off assignments as you complete them is a great visual way to see your accomplishmnets.

  3. This is a very useful summary for those about to commence summer school. It focuses on what students need to do rather than enter a course blindly and feel lost navigating canvas. I thought the emphasis on using the Peer Tutoring Service and Virtual Buddy system is a great tool students working at home can rely on. Hopefully they don't feel too isolated and have multiple avenues to pursue when they need help getting through the course.
